  1. We carried experiments examining effect of a mixture of trimethoprim and zinc influenza virus. We examined two virus loads 10 EID50 and 100 EID50, in 6 day old chick embryos, group 1 and group 2. This was compared to control groups (C 1- C 4). Experiments were repeated in triplicates. EID50 = egg infective dose 50 i.e. virus load that cause 50% mortality of the embryo, C = control, NS = normal saline, TMP = trimethoprim, Zn = zinc, Tri-Z: mixture of trimethoprim and zinc oxide
